Four small medieval villages – Apricale, Rochetta Nervina, Isolabona and Dolceacqua – are all within just 8 kilometers of Casa Pomodoro. These are typical villages for this region and are well known for their food, natural springs, and old buildings.

Anyone who fancies a lazy day soaking up the sun can also go to one of the many small beaches alongside the Mediterranean or along the river to Pigna & Rochetta Nervina. Alternatively, you might like to go the French cities Menton, Monaco or Nice.

Want to do something more active? There are many (steep) hikes and cycling routes nearby. Especially a hike to Monte Toraggio is recommended where you look back- and forth from the sea to the Alps.

Food recommendations

The nearest big supermarkets are in Camporosso (LidL, Mercato and more). But also in Isolabona & Apricale you found little shops for your daily needs.

There are many beautifull hiking trails in the surroundings. We always use the app ‘Komoot’. With this app its easy to follow the routes, download it for offline use and discover! You can use 1 region for free to use.

Workshop ‘Make your own natural soap’

Our friend and neighbour Irene has her own natural cosmetic shop in Apricale ‘L’Albero Storto’. For the guests of Casa Pomodoro she offers a workshop: make your own natural soap. Give her (or us) a message if you are interested.
